Curtis C. Coon - Principal

Curtis C. Coon has extensive experience serving Maryland businesses and individuals for more than 35 years.  He is licensed to practice law in both Maryland and the District of Columbia and is also a licensed Maryland real estate broker.

 

Mr. Coon is a founding principal of Coon & Cole.  He has broad experience serving businesses and individuals in civil matters, including construction law, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, real estate acquisition and development, land use and financing, foreclosure, estate planning and the buying, selling, and formation of businesses.

 

Over his career, Mr. Coon has represented individuals and business owners, including hotels, resorts, banks, distributors, retailers, contractors of all trades and sizes, professional corporations (i.e.,  dentists, veterinarians, accountants and lawyers), real estate investors, commercial landowners, car dealerships, bars, restaurants, farms, and churches.

 

He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals (Fourth Circuit), and the U.S. District Court (District of Maryland) where he appears for both bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters.  He is a member of the Harford County Bar Association where he served on the County Legal Education Committee, Bankruptcy Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute and the Maryland State Bar Association’s Construction Law Section.

 

Since 1998, he has held an AV-Preeminent Rating, which is the highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards awarded by Martindale-Hubbell.
